Illegal Stay Crackdown: ATS Apprehends Three Bangladeshi Nationals in Navi Mumbai

The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) conducted raids in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, and arrested three Bangladeshi nationals for illegal residency in the country, according to news agency PTI.

Acting on a tip-off, the ATS team raided a residential premises in Kharghar's Ovegaon area on Wednesday, where they apprehended the three individuals. Upon investigation, it was found that they couldn't produce any valid travel or stay documents for India. They had been residing in the country for around 30 years and were employed locally.

The arrested individuals were identified as Kamal Ahmed Khan (36), Alim Yunus Shaikh (40), and Badal Moinuddin Khan (38). A case was registered against them under the Passport (Entry Into India) Rules, 1950, and the Foreigners Act, 1946.

In a separate operation, Maharashtra ATS arrested nine more Bangladeshi nationals who were staying illegally in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Among them, two were wanted in connection with a rape case registered in Navi Mumbai in 2022.

The ATS conducted multiple raids as part of their drive against Bangladeshi nationals residing in the country without valid documents. The operations took place over a week, and it led to the arrest of individuals involved in various cases.
